About

Devastating wildfires quickly spread through the Hawaiian islands of Maui and Big Island on August 9, 2023, leading to several deaths with thousands forced to evacuate their communities. Homes, businesses, and infrastructure have faced catastrophic damage, including historic Lahaina, and relief efforts are currently underway. The following organizations are providing shelter, food, clothing, medical care, support, and other necessary resources, and your donation to this Fund will help support these organizations to provide critical aid to the impacted communities. Please note the organizations included in this Fund are subject to change as we learn more about needs on the ground.

American National Red Cross

The American Red Cross of Hawai'i is working with local, state, and federal officials to provide shelter and comfort to those affected by the wildfires.

Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement

The Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement has partnered with Alakaʻina Foundation Family of Companies and Kākoʻo Haleakalā to match community donations for those impacted by the wildfires.

Maui United Way, Inc.

Maui United Way's disaster relief fund will help provide direct aid those impacted by the wildfires.

Maui Humane Society Inc

The Maui Humane Society is providing shelter and care to animals displaced by the wildfires.

Maui Food Bank, Inc.

The Maui Food Bank is collecting donations to help provide meals to those impacted by the wildfires.

Hui No Ke Ola PONO Inc

THE MISSION OF HUI NO KE OLA PONO IS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH STATUS OF NATIVE HAWAIIANS BY EMPOWERING THE PRESENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS TO BE THEIR OWN HEALTH ADVOCATES. HUI NO KE OLA PONO SERVES AS A "BRIDGE" TO THE NATIVE HAWAIIAN COMMUNITY BY INTEGRATING MEDICAL CARE WITH TRADITIONAL HAWAIIAN VALUES, BELIEFS AND PRACTICES. ALTHOUGH OUR MISSION IS FOCUSED ON THE NATIVE HAWAIIAN COMMUNITY, HUI NO KE OLA PONO DOES NOT TURN ANYONE AWAY.

Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen (WCK) is first to the frontlines providing fresh meals in response to crises. Applying our model of quick action, leveraging local resources, and adapting in real time, WCK has served hundreds of millions nourishing meals around the world.When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes with the urgency of now to start cooking meals for people in need. WCK serves comforting meals to survivors of disasters quickly by partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of local restaurants, food trucks, or kitchens. To support regional economies, WCK prioritizes purchasing local ingredients to cook with or distribute. Food provides not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope, especially in times of crisis.
