Huntington's Disease Society of America, Inc.
Today, Huntington's is a progressive, incurable and invariably fatal genetic neurological disease. Since it was only discovered in the last 20 years, the cruel impact of the disease is made worse by the fact that many carriers of the gene have had children before discovering that they inherited the condition. Husbands and wives are left to watch not only a spouse suffer, but possibly their children as well.
In the last year, great scientific progress has been made for a drug which can slow down the progression and onset of the disease, this is a major lifeline for families affected - research scientists need all the help they can get.
Any progress made in the fight for a cure for Huntington's will be able to help those suffering with other neurological diseases including ALS, Parkinsons, Motor Neurons.
